Meet Mahesh Enjeti
Like Incredible India, the land he was born in, Mahesh Enjeti is full of surprises.
Following an Honours degree in Physics, he chose to go to business school (an MIT Sloan affiliate). After majoring in Finance, he sought a career in Marketing. Just as he was scaling the very top of the corporate ladder in India, Mahesh opted to start life again in Australia, so he could have a better balance between work and family.
During an extended corporate stint, Mahesh worked in virtually every product category (from fertilisers to entertainment, advertising to consumer products and banking to tourism) and in every genre of business – from the boutique, family owned firm to the large, global enterprise. Included in this journey have been ITC and DCM in India, Tourism Tasmania and TABCORP in Australia.
His venture into consulting 18 years ago has allowed Mahesh the opportunity to connect the dots and look at businesses very differently. He has created new brands, re-positioned existing offerings and turned business models on their head.
Mahesh is a creative strategist, an intuitive analyst and a history inspired futurist. It is his unique combination of creativity, analytical thinking and bottom-line orientation that drew him to consulting. His contrasting abilities seem like a contradiction but stem from those early days of equal facility with physics and economics.
Mahesh is a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders (formerly, AIM), a CPM Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute, a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the UK Marketing Society and the Australian Market & Social Research Society. He is associated with the Sydney Graduate School of Management as Adjunct Faculty (formerly also with the AGSM) where he teaches Leadership, Strategic Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship and International Business Practice.
Mahesh has been on the Judging Panel for the Australian Marketing Institute Awards for Marketing Excellence and was on the Board of the AMI during a critical turnaround phase. He has won several national and international awards, is widely published and has presented at international conferences. He also currently judges the Stevie International Business Awards.
He has served on the Board of the Australian Marketing Institute as a Non Executive Director and is associated with a range of private companies and NFPs in an Advisory capacity.
